Grant Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by La Victoria

LOS ANGELES – Senior Megan Grant of UCLA Softball been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between May 12-18.
Grant went 3-for-7 with four walks, eight RBIs and two home runs, including a grand slam, in the Bruins' 3-0 Los Angeles Regional sweep at Easton Stadium last weekend. Her grand slam gave UCLA a 6-0 lead in the Regional final against South Carolina on Sunday and marked her NCAA-record 40th home run of the year. Grant also homered off South Carolina in UCLA's 7-2 win on Saturday. After this weekend's action, Grant has 89 career home runs and is one shy of tying Stacey Nuveman's program record of 90.
The Bruin bomber also leads the nation in slugging percentage (1.342), on-base percentage (.647) and walks (68) entering next week's Super Regional series versus UCF.
The utility player secures her third-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
