Bruins Grab First Round Lead at Regional Challenge

Golfers Go Seven-Under and Finish Third

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team rose up the ladder in the final round, finally finishing third at the Fall Preview hosted by New Mexico on its campus championship course in Albuquerque, NM.

The Bruins posted a seven-under par score of 285 to finish at six-under 870. Duke won the event with a 54-hole score of 860 (-16), followed by USC at 861 (-15). Arizona State was fourth at 874 (-2), followed by Vanderbilt at 881 (+5).

The UNM Championship Course plays to a par of 73 over 6,351 yards.

Individually, junior Tiffany Joh recorded her 13th career Top 10 finish, tying for sixth place at 213 (-6) after posting a final round 71 (-2). Freshman Maria Jose Uribe recorded seven birdies -- including three straight to end her round -- on her way to a 69 (-4). She tied for eighth at 214 (-5). Freshman Glory Yang placed 19th at 219 (E) after signing for a two-under par 70. Sophomore Sydnee Michaels tied for 35th at 224 (+5) and junior Ryann O'Toole tied for 74th at 233 (+14). Both players carded scores of 75 (+2) in the final round.
