Bruins Win Third Straight Tournament

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team won its third straight tournament Sunday, capturing the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.

The Bruins posted a final round team score of 282 (-2) for a 54-hole score of 844 (-8) to beat second-ranked USC (847, -5) by three shots. Host Stanford placed third at 857 (+5), followed by Oklahoma State in fourth place at 859 (+7). Duke was fifth at 861 (+9).

Junior Sydnee Michaels continued her solid play, finishing fourth at 210 (-3) after firing a final round 67 (-4). Michaels made four birdies on the day and played the inward nine in three-under par.

Sophomore Maria Jose Uribe posted a two-under par 69 on Sunday and tied for 12th place at 214 (+1). After 11 straight pars to begin the day, Uribe broke through with consecutive birdies at the 12th and 13th holes, and made five straight pars coming in.

Freshman Stephanie Kono tied for ninth place at 212 (-1) after posting a 72 (+1) in the final round. Senior Tiffany Joh finished 11th at even par 213 following a 74 (+3), and sophomore Glory Yang tied for 31st at 219 (+6), following a final round 76 (+5).

Senior Ryann O'Toole, playing for the Bruins as an individual, posted a 73 (+2) on Sunday and tied for fifth place at 211 (-2). Freshman Brianna Do carded a 75 (+4) and tied for 47th at eight-over par 221.

USC's Lizette Salas won medalist honors with a three-round score of 206 (-7).
