The second-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in fifth place and junior All-American Tiffany Joh remained in contention at the UCF Challenge at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.

The Bruins posted a team score of 291 (+3) on Monday for a 36-hole total of 577 (+1). They trailed top-ranked and first-place Duke by 13 strokes. The Blue Devils overtook the lead with a six-under par round of 282 and owned a 12-under par total of 564. Purdue was second at 572 (-4), followed by USC and Florida at 575 (-1).

Joh posted a round of 69 (-3) that featured five birdies and two bogeys. She was alone in sixth place at 139 (-5), three shots off the pace set by Duke's Allison Whitaker, who carded a 71 (-1) for a two-day total of 136 (-8).

UCLA freshman Maria Jose Uribe rose eight spots with a second-round score of 71 (-1) and was tied for 13th at 143 (-1). Sophomore Sydnee Michaels posted a 75 (+3) and fell into a tie for 36th at 147 (+3). Freshman Glory Yang signed for a 77 (+5) and was tied for 60th at 150 (+6) with junior Ryann O'Toole, who posted a 78 (+6).

Whitaker held a one-stroke lead over teammate Amanda Blumenherst, who fired a 68 (-4) in the second round and had a 36-hole total of 137 (-7).
