Top-ranked UCLA recorded a runner-up finish at the 22nd Pacific-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship, hosted by USC at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The Bruins posted a team score of 300 (+16) Wednesday and finished 26 strokes behind USC, which won its first conference title in 20 years, with a 54-hole score of 860 (+8). Arizona State placed third at 891 (+39), five shots behind the Bruins (886, +34). Tied for fourth were Arizona and Cal at 908 (+56), followed by Stanford in sixth at 913 (+61). Oregon placed seventh at 916 (+64), Washington State was eighth at 932 (+80), Washington was ninth at 936 (+84) and Oregon State finished 10th at 942 (+90).

Individually for the Bruins, junior Tiffany Joh posted a final round score of 75 and tied for third place at 217 (+4). Joh began the day tied for the lead at even par, but managed just one birdie against five bogeys. Still, she was voted the Pac-10 Player of the Year after ranking among the nation's Top 5 players all season and finishing 13th or better in every tournament.

Freshman Glory Yang tied for 10th at 223 (+10) after posting a final round score of 76 (+5) and teammate Maria Jose Uribe tied for 14th at 225 (+11) following a 74 (+3) on Wednesday. Junior Maiya Tanaka tied for 20th at 227 (+14) following a 75 (+4) and sophomore Sydnee Michaels tied for 30th at 232 (+19).

In addition to Joh earning Pac-10 Player of the Year honors and First-Team all-conference acclaim, the Bruins also placed Yang on the first team. On the second-team were Michaels and Uribe.
