Led by an ace from junior Sydnee Michaels and a scorching five-under par round from senior Tiffany Joh, UCLA took a commanding lead after the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt's Legends Course in Franklin, TN.

The Bruins set a school record with a sizzling 13-under par round of 275 for a 36-hole total of 562 (-14). They led runnerup Oklahoma State (568, -8) by six shots. Host Vanderbilt was third at 572 (-4), followed by USC in fourth place at 573 (-3). Duke was fifth at 579 (+3).

Individually, Joh rebounded from a lackluster opening round and posted a sterling second round score of 67 (-5). She was tied for 10th place at 142 (-2). Michaels, who aced the par 3, 152-yard 16th hole, posted a round of 70 (-2) and was alone in third place at six-under par 138. She trailed Vanderbilt's Megan Graham, who held the 36-hole lead, by two shots.

Sophomores Maria Jose Uribe (69, -3), Glory Yang (69, -3) and freshman Stephanie Kono (72, E) were all tied for 13th place at one-under par 143.
