Bruins Remain in Second Place at Stanford

The UCLA women's golf team remained in second place after two rounds at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto Saturday.

The No.2 ranked Bruins continued to trail top-ranked Arizona State, which increased its lead to six strokes. UCLA was at seven-under par 561 after posting an even par score of 284. The Sun Devils posted a two-under par score of 282 and owned a 36-hole total of 555. Texas was third at 564 (-4), followed by Vanderbilt at 573 (+5) and fifth-place Washington at 579 (+11).

Individually for the Bruins, freshman Tiffany Lua continued to chase the leaders. She posted a 72 (+1) and was tied for sixth at three-under par 139. Sophomore Brianna Do was in ninth place at 140 (-2) after carding a 69 (-2) on Saturday. Senior Sydnee Michaels was tied for 10th at even par 140, following a second round 71 (E). Sophomore Stephanie Kono recorded a score of 75 (+4) and was tied for 22nd at 144 (+2). Junior Glory Yang was tied for 27th at 145 (+3) after posting a 73 (+2).

Junior Lalita Boonnoppornkul, playing as an individual, was tied for 45th at 150 (+8) after signing for a 77 (+6).

ASU's Carlotta Ciganda and Vanderbilt's Marina Alex were tied for the lead at 137 (-5).
