The 7th ranked UCLA men's volleyball team snapped their five-game losing streak by dropping the 10th ranked Hawai'i Warriors 3-0.

The Bruins improved to 8-7 on the year and are now 3-6 in MPSF play. This is also UCLA's eighth consecutive win against Hawai'i and their second win over the Warriors this year. Game scores were 25-21, 25-22 and 28-26.

The Bruins got off to a fast start by taking the first two sets from the Warriors. Hawai'i pushed back though and jumped out to a 10-6 lead in the third set. But UCLA would not be denied as they eventually took the final set 28-26 to win the match.

Junior Kyle Caldwell played a big part in the victory for the Bruins as he led the team with 11 kills. Freshman Gonzalo Quiroga and junior Weston Dunlap were right behind him with ten apiece. Junior Thomas Amberg led the team with four block assists and senior Tom Hastings came up with some big digs in the match, finishing with a team-high six on the night.

Overall, the Bruins hit .341 as a team while the Warriors hit .346. Joshua Walker and Jonas Umlauft led Hawai'i with 14 kills each.

The two teams will face off again on Saturday, February 19th at Pauley Pavilion in the 33rd annual Kilgour Cup. Gametime is slated for 7:00 p.m. PT and fans at home can either follow the match live on gametracker or listen to a live audio broadcast online for free.
