The 5th ranked UCLA men's volleyball team lost their second straight match after being upset by the UC San Diego Tritons 3-0 at the John Wooden Center.

The Bruins fell to 15-11 on the year and are now 8-10 in MPSF play. On the other side, the Tritons improved to 5-14 overall and 9-17 in conference play. Game scores were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22.

Junior Kyle Caldwell led the Bruins with 10 kills and 7 digs in the loss, good for 11.0 points. Freshman Gonzalo Quiroga was second the team with 8 kills and contributed 4 digs as well. Junior Weston Dunlap continued to hit a high percentage in matches, as he led the team with a .364 percentage (6-2-11). In addition, junior setter Alex Scattareggia chimed in with 29 assists.

Overall, the Bruins hit an abysmal .105 as a team while the Tritons hit .329. The Bruins were also outblocked at the net 11.0 to 7.5. Nick Iorfino led UC San Diego with 11 kills.

The Bruins will be back on the court on Friday, April 8th against the Pacific Tigers at the John Wooden Center. Gametime is slated for 7:00 p.m. PT. The two teams met earlier in the season at the Spanos Center in Stockton, CA with the Bruins sweeping the Tigers 3-0.
