
Bruins Win First Title of the Season

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team won its first tournament of the season, capturing the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview on Sunday in Franklin, TN.
The Bruins maintained their six-shot lead and won their 41st tournament title under Coach Carrie Forsyth. The Bruins won for the third time in five years at the Legends Course. The Bruins also have finished second three times at this event.
UCLA's 873 (+9) 54-hole total outlasted second place Alabama (879, +15). Arizona State and Virginia tied for third at 884 (+20) and North Carolina and Texas A & M tied for fifth at 886 (+22).
Individually, junior Tiffany Lua tied for fifth place at 215 (-1), freshman Erynne Lee tied for eighth at 218 (+2) and sophomore Ani Gulugian tied for 17th at 220 (+4). Junior Lee Lopez tied for 20th at 221 (+5) and freshman Kyle Roig tied for 39th at 226 (+10).
Alabama's Jennifer Kirby and Duke's Lindy Duncan were tied after 54 holes at 212 (-4). Duncan won medalist honors on the first extra playoff hole.
