
Bruins Finish Second Round in Texas

The UCLA Women's Golf team finished the second round of the Longhorn Invitational on Monday, scoring 301 (+13) as a team at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, TX. The score puts the Bruins in 12th after 36 holes with a total team score of 605 (+29).
The Bruins found themselves jumped by the Pepperdine on day two, as the Waves improved upon their Sunday score by 12 strokes to finish at 295 (+7) on the day and 602 (+26) for the tournament so far. UCLA is now settled in a tie for 12th with the University of New Mexico, as the lobos pulled even with a second round score of 292 (+4). Elsewhere in the tourney, #6 Florida dominated, finishing at 280 (-8) to notch the best score of the round by six strokes and climb into a tie for first. The Gators will head into the final day deadlocked with SEC rival #9 Alabama, as the Tide went one over on the day to stay even with UF at 573 (-3) apiece. #10 Arizona State finished in third once more, finishing with the second best score of the round at 286 (-2) to pull into a tie with Arkansas, with both teams at 576 (E) through 36.
The Bruins were lead individually by the duo of Lee Lopez and Erynne Lee, as the senior and sophomore each carded a 74 (+2) to lead the Bruins. Lee is now in a three-way tie for 11th on the overall leaderboard, with a 143 (-1) after two days. Freshman Louise Ridderstrom was next, continuing to build experience as she improved her first round score by six strokes and finished with a 76 (+4). Junior Ani Gulugian followed close behind, notching a 77 (+5).
