The fourth-ranked UCLA men's golf team was in fifth place Monday when play was suspended at the San Diego Invitational in Chula Vista, Calif.

The Bruins were 18-over par with a few holes to play and trailed first-place Washington by 10 shots. The Huskies led after the first round, but were 12-over par in round two, eight-over for the tournament. USC was second at 11-over par, followed by San Diego and Tennessee in a tie for third at 17-over.

The Bruins posted a first-round score of 296 (+8) and were 10-over par in the second round.

Individually for the Bruins, junior Pontus Widegren was tied for third at even par. He was one-under par in the second round and posted a score of 73 (+1) in the opening round. Tied for seventh at two-over par for the tournament was junior Pedro Figueiredo, who posted an even par score of 72 in the morning. Senior Alex Shi Yup Kim and freshman Jay Hwang were tied for 31st at eight-over par. In the opening round, Kim posted a score of 74 (+2) and Hwang carded at 77 (+5). Sophomore Anton Arboleda was tied for 55th at 11-over par following rounds of 77-78.

Washington's Chris Williams was the leader in the clubhouse at two-under par. He posted a round of 70 (-2) in the morning.
