The UCLA women's golf team finished the 2012 season by earning an eighth place finish at the NCAA Championship in Franklin, TN.

The Bruins posted a final round team score of 293 (+5) for a 72-hole total of 1,181, 10 strokes behind Alabama, which won the national championship. USC placed second at 1,172, followed by LSU at 1,173. Virginia took fourth place at 1,175, followed by fifth-place South Carolina at 1,176. Arizona State and Oklahoma tied for sixth at 1,179.

"We are pretty disappointed that we couldn't play better this week," said Head Coach Carrie Forsyth. "It just seemed like we couldn't get much going as a team."

Individually, senior Brianna Do led UCLA by tying for 14th place at 293 (+5) following a round of 73 (+1) on Friday.

"I'm very proud of Brianna for leading us this week in her final collegiate tournament," Forsyth continued.

Freshman Erynne Lee tied for 29th at 295 (+7) after posting a score of 74 (+2) in the final round. Juniors Lee Lopez and Tiffany Lua tied for 51st and 59th, respectively. Lua posted her best score of the week, a two-under par 70 and finished at 12-over 300. Lopez carded a score of 76 (+4) on Friday and had a four-round total of 299 (+11). Finally, sophomore Ani Gulugian tied for 98th at 308 (+20) following her round of 78 (+6) on Friday.

Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil won medalist honors with a 72-hole score of 282 (-6), which featured a final round score of 70 (-2).
