COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja won the Platform event at the Falcon Diving Invitational on Friday and also reached the finals of the One-Meter along with junior Paulina Guzman.
Ivory-Ganja was well clear of the field in the Platform, finishing her five dives with a season-best mark of 279.45, nearly 50 points better than her nearest competitor. Guzman finished sixth in the Platform with a season-high 206.35 points, while senior Maggy Boyd was 16th (179.60) in the 43-person field.
In the first event on Friday, Guzman finished fourth in the One-Meter. After placing fifth in the preliminary six dives (273.85), the junior totaled 271.50 in the final. Ivory-Ganja, who was fourth after the prelims (282.05), finished seventh with a score of 264.40 over the final six dives. Boyd (18th, 229.45) and senior Michelle Vale (21st, 228.25) each finished out of the Top 8 for the finals.
The final event of the meet is on Saturday with the Three-Meter. The prelims begin at 11 a.m. MT, followed by the finals at 1:45 p.m. MT.
