COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the third time on the weekend, junior Paulina Guzman and sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja each finished in the Top 8 of an event at the Falcon Diving Invitational, as Guzman placed fifth in Saturday's Three-Meter and Ivory-Ganja was seventh.
Ivory-Ganja finished first after the six preliminary dives with a season-best score of 328.05, nearly 30 points better than her nearest competitor. Guzman was sixth after the prelims with a score of 279.90. Senior Michelle Vale just missed making the Top 8 with a season-best score of 263.40, good for 10th, while senior Maggy Boyd was 26th (232.40).
Guzman totaled a score of 285.15 for her final six dives, placing fifth. Ivory-Ganja missed on one of her new dives and fell to seventh with a score of 264.65.
The 12th-ranked Bruins (11-0) resume Pac-12 play next weekend in the Bay Area, taking on #8 Stanford on Friday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. and #3 California on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 12 p.m.
