
Bruins Take Over First Place in Texas

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team assumed a three-shot lead over Pac-12 rival Arizona State after 36 holes in the 40th Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational Monday at the University of Texas Golf Course in Austin.
The Bruins posted a six-under par score of 282 in the second round and had a two-round total of 563 (-13). The Sun Devils were second at 566 (-10), followed by Miami at eight-under 568 and Iowa State at 573 (-3). Mississippi State was fifth at 575 (-1).
UCLA freshman Alison Lee was tied for the 36-hole lead at seven-under par 137, following her round of 68 (-4) on Monday. Lee enjoyed a bogey-free round and enters the final day deadlocked with Mississippi State's Jessica Peng.
Tied for ninth are UCLA junior Erynne Lee and freshman Bronte Law at three-under par 141. Both players posted scores of even par 72. Sophomore Louise Ridderstrom carded a score of two-under par 70 and moved into a tie for 20th at 144 (E). Senior Ani Gulugian was tied for 52nd at 150 (+6) following her round of 76 (+4).
Junior Brittany Mai, playing for the Bruins as an individual, was tied for 92nd at 161 (+17) after her round of 77 (+5).
