Beth Goodwin enters her first season as a student assistant coach after a stellar collegiate career. Goodwin was a four-year All-American as a Bruin, specializing in the butterfly and freestyle. Goodwin ranks third in both the 100 and 200 Fly in the Bruin record books.

During the summer of 2001, Goodwin represented the US at the World University Games. At the Games, Goodwin captured the inaugural title in the 50 Fly in a time of 27.18. She also helped the US claim the silver medal in the 400 Medley Relay with a split of 59.89.

Goodwin will graduate in 2002 with a degree in anthropology and an education minor.
