Team Awards Announced at Swimming and Diving Banquet

2012-2013 UCLA Swimming & Diving Media Guide

The UCLA swimming and diving team held their annual end of the year banquet last weekend, as team awards were announced as well as the team captains for the 2013-2014 squad.

Sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja won three awards, Most Valuable Diver, Competitive Greatness and Iron Effort, which is given to the top performer in the weight room.

Senior Andrea Reigel was given the swimming side of the Iron Effort Award, and was also recognized with the Bruin Pride Award, which is voted on by her teammates.

Junior Ting Quah was named Most Valuable Swimmer and received the High Point Award, given to the swimmer who earned the most points at Pac-12 dual meets, the Pac-12 Championships and the NCAA Championships.

The Academic Excellence Award was earned by junior Anna Senko, the Most Improved winner was junior Lauren Baker and the Outstanding Freshman Award went to Katie Kinnear.

Also announced at the banquet was the team captains for the 2013-2014 season, which will be Quah, Senko, Hayley Hacker and Haley McNamara.
