Lenz and Monahan Make Platform Finals on Last Day of Bruin Invite

Freshman Annika Lenz and sophomore Montana Monahan each made the Platform finals on the last day of the Bruin Diving Invitational on Sunday at Spieker Aquatics Center, with Lenz placing second and Monahan finishing sixth. 

Lenz was third after the five-dive preliminaries with a total score of 271.45, while Monahan earned the last spot in the Top 12 for the finals with a 206.55. Freshman Danni Repper was 18th in the prelims (181.85).

In the finals, Lenz improved to second overall with a tally of 284.85 (season-best) in her last five dives for a total of 556.30. Monahan vaulted all the way up to sixth, setting a personal-best with a 228.25 for an overall score of 434.80. It was also the first Zone qualifying mark of Monahan's career.

The Bruin divers are off until Jan. 31 when they have a dual meet with Stanford at Spieker Aquatics Center.
