SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The UCLA swim team came out on top at the three-way dual meet against UCSB and Oregon State on Saturday afternoon.  Wearing pink caps in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, the Bruins beat the Gauchos 132-113, while dominating the Beavers 175-82.

Both Madison White and Caroline McTaggart posted double wins at the event.  White, a UCLA junior, swam the top mark in the 200 Fly (2:01.48) and the 200 Back (1:58.95).  Bruin newcomer McTaggart won the 100 Free (50.97) and the 200 Free (1:49.93).

UCLA swept the 200 Free, as Linnea Mack and Michaela Merlihan finished second and third, respectively, behind their freshman teammate.  Mack posted the top mark in the 100 Fly, swimming a 56.00.

UCLA's freshman made a solid showing at the tri-meet as well.  Sandra Soe finished first in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:09.17, while Emma Schanz posted a 2:05.16 to finish first in the 200 IM.

Next up, the Bruins head to the desert to take on Arizona and Arizona State.  UCLA will swim against the Wildcats in Tucson on Friday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. PT.  On Saturday, Nov. 7, the Bruins will hit the pool in Tempe at 11 a.m. PT to take on the Sun Devils.
