LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The 10th-ranked Bruins scored in all four of their offensive innings and posted their second shutout of the season in a 16-0 victory against New Mexico on Friday at the Wilson/DeMarini Desert Classic at Eller Media Stadium.

UCLA (6-2), which fell behind 3-0 in Friday's opener against Northwestern only to score 28 unanswered runs in its two victories, pounded out 12 hits versus the Lobos (3-3), as eight different players accounted for them. Sophomore Gabrielle Maurice went 3-for-3 with five runs batted in and three runs scored, sophomore Delaney Spaulding was 2-for-2 with four runs scored and three RBI and freshman Kylee Perez posted a pair of hits.

Freshman Johanna Grauer notched her second collegiate victory, striking out six in five innings and giving up two hits and three walks. She struck out one in every inning, including a pair in the first.

It was all Bruins right from the start, benefitting from three New Mexico errors in the first inning. Senior Ally Carda and Spaulding both reached on errors and Maurice singled home Carda to make it 1-0. After a sacrifice by junior Brittany Moeai moved both runners up, senior Stephany LaRosa walked to load the bases. Junior Mysha Sataraka then tapped a ball to third, but it was dropped by the Lobo catcher, allowing both Spaulding and Maurice to score to make it 3-0, with LaRosa taking third on the play. One out later, senior Gracie Goulder tapped one back off the pitcher's glove to bring in LaRosa with the Bruins' fourth run.

In the second, Carda led off with a single to right and scored on a double to left from Spaulding, who moved to third on the throw home and scored on a single to right by Maurice to extend the lead to 6-0.

UCLA busted it open with seven in the third. Perez reached on a bunt single to open the inning and stole second one out later. After a walk to junior Allexis Bennett, Carda reached on an error to load the bases for Spaulding, who drew a walk to bring in Perez with the Bruins' seventh run.

Another free pass to Maurice scored Bennett to make it 8-0. Following a fielder's choice grounder and a force at home for the second out of the inning, another bases-loaded walk, this time to LaRosa, scored Spaulding with UCLA's ninth run. A double to left by freshman Maddy Jelenicki cleared the bases to get the Bruins' total to a dozen and a Perez double to center scored her fellow freshman to make it 13-0.

In the fourth, Bennett led off with a double to left-center and scored one out later on a Spaulding single up the middle to extend the lead to 14-0. Maurice then hit her first homer of the season to center to put the Bruins up 16-0.

The Bruins play twice on Saturday, squaring off with Utah State at 11:15 a.m. at Stephanie Lynn Craig Park in Henderson, Nev. and versus Hawai'i at 6 p.m. at UNLV's Eller Media Stadium.
