COLORADO SPRINGS - Sophomore Annika Lenz and freshman Maria Polyakova each punched their tickets into this month's NCAA Championships on Monday at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships at the Air Force Academy's Cadet Natatorium. Polyakova was third in the 3-Meter event, while Lenz was fifth.

Needing to finish in the top 18 out of 55 divers in the preliminaries to qualify for the finals, Polyakova was fourth after her initial six dives with a score of 322.95, while Lenz was seventh at a season-best 314.40. Freshman Ciara Monahan placed 35th (245.95).

The top eight in the final clinched spots into the NCAA Championships and both Lenz and Polyakova cleared that hurdle by over 12 points. With scores carrying over, Polyakova finished third with a total of 646.05, going 323.10 in her last six dives. Lenz was fifth after her 12 dives were completed with a score of 631.90, posting a total of 317.50 in the finals to improve her season best.

On Tuesday, all three Bruins move over to the 1-Meter, as 56 divers will start off the prelims at 10 a.m. PT and 18 advancing to the 1 p.m. PT finals.
