
Bruins Tied for Sixth in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - Freshmen Bethany Wu and Lilia Vu were each under par in their first collegiate rounds of golf, as the fifth-ranked Bruins are tied for sixth through one round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at the Reunion Resort Watson Course.
The Bruins' foursome shot a 2-under 286, ranking 10 shots behind leader USC. UCLA, tied in the standings with Arizona and South Carolina, are two shots back of fourth-place Arkansas and Tennessee.
Wu, starting on the 10th tee, posted five birdies in her round on the 11th, 13th, 14th, 16th and sixth holes to shoot a 3-under 69 and finish her first college round in a tie for eighth.
Vu was also solid with four birdies (12th, 15th, 17th, 3rd) before back-to-back bogeys on the seventh and eighth closed her round at -2 (70) and in a tie for 15th.
Junior Bronte Law is in a tie for 34th after a 1-over 73, sophomore Lydia Choi fired a 2-over 74 (T-42) and senior Louise Ridderström posted a non-scoring +7 (79).
The Bruins start their second round on the 10th tee on Monday at 5 a.m. PT with Ridderstrom, followed by Choi, Law, Vu and Wu. Live scoring can be found here.
