ORLANDO, Fla. - The fifth-ranked Bruins dropped two positions to eighth following two rounds of play at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M at the Reunion Resort Watson Course.
As a team, UCLA is +2 (578), but does have a pair of freshmen inside the Top 25 on the individual leaderboard. Through 36 holes, Lilia Vu is 2-under (142) after shooting an even-par 72 on Monday. Vu was steady in her second collegiate round with two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars to sit in a tie for 17th after Monday's play.
Fellow newcomer Bethany Wu is tied for 21st after two rounds (-1, 143). After struggling with bogeys on three of her first four holes, Wu settled down to record 13 pars and a birdie on the seventh.
Junior Bronte Law is tied for 36th (+2, 146) after 36 holes and had a great round going with birdies on the 11th, 14th, 15th, 1st and 3rd with only a bogey on the 18th. However, Law had a double and a triple on the fifth and eighth to fall back to +1 (73) for the second straight day.
Senior Louise Ridderström bounced back from Sunday's round to shoot a 1-over 73, putting her at T-52 (+8, 152) through two rounds. Sophomore Lydia Choi shot a non-counting 75 (+3) on Monday and is in a tie for 46th after two rounds (+5, 149).
The Bruins' final round starts at 5 a.m. PT on Tuesday, with UCLA again starting on the 10th tee with the order of Ridderström, Choi, Law, Vu and Wu. Live scoring can be found here.
