Two Bruins Invited to 2017 USASB JWNT Camp

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla - Two current Bruins have been invited to the 2017 USA Softball Junior Women's National Team Selection Camp, which will be held Dec. 31-Jan. 1, 2017 in Clearwater, Fla. The Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced a list of 20 initial invitees on Tuesday. Those athletes who accept the invitation to try out will vie for 17 spots on the 2017 USA Softball Junior Women's National Team (JWNT) roster. Additional athletes may be invited to the USA Softball WNT Selection Camp at a later date.
UCLA freshmen Aaliyah Jordan and Madilyn Nickles are on the invitee list.
During the selection process, athletes will participate in position drills as well as simulated games and be evaluated by the USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Committee (WNTSC). Athletes who make the 2017 USA Softball JWNT roster will be competing at the 2017 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Junior Women's World Championship, which will be held July 24-30 in Clearwater, Fla. The complete 2017 schedule for the JWNT, including exhibition games, will be announced at a later date.
