Bruins Host Arizona Schools

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 15 UCLA women's swimming and diving teams continue Pac-12 competition this week when they host the Arizona schools.  The Bruins face the Wildcats on Friday at 1:30 p.m. PT, followed by the Sun Devils on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT. at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center. 

Last time out, UCLA fell 143-119 to Washington State on the road.  The Bruins won three individual events and posted the top time in the 400 Free Relay.  Redshirt senior Katy Campbell won her second straight 1000 Freestyle event.  After besting the competition by 11 seconds at UCLA's Pink Meet on October 22, Campbell swam a season-best 10:11.89 against the Cougars.  Freshman Kenisha Liu posted the top time in the 100 Freestyle and sophomore Emma Schanz placed first in the 200 Breaststroke.  The Bruins wrapped up the meet with a win, as Caroline McTaggart, Isabella Goldsmith, Savannah Steffen, and Liu swam the fastest time in the 400 Free Relay. 

Scouting the Wildcats
The No. 22 Wildcats are 3-0 on the season and fresh off a commanding win over Utah in their Pac-12 opener.  Arizona swept the podium in six events—200 Free, 100 Back, 50 Free, 200 Back, 500 Free, and 200 IM.  In both the 100 Back and 500 Free, the Cats went 1-2-3-4.

Also 3-0, Arizona State will face USC on Friday before making the trek over to Westwood on Saturday.  Last time out, the Sun Devils downed Denver 152.5-135.5 at home.  ASU won four individual swim events, while junior standout Mara Aiacoboae swept the springboard events.
