LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Freshman Cole Madey fired a 1-under 71 during the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, making him the top scorer for the Bruins on Tuesday.
Starting on the 10th, Madey made birdies on holes #11, #17, #3 and #6 to go with one bogey and one double bogey to record his fourth under par round of the season. Through 36 holes, he is tied for 40th at 5-over (149).
Senior Jonathan Garrick shot a 4-over 76 on Tuesday and is tied for 59th (+10, 154). He had three birdies on the 16th, third and sixth holes and added three bogeys and two doubles. Sophomore Corey Shaun is tied for 65th (+12, 156) after two rounds following an 8-over 80 in round two. He made five birdies on the 12th, 16th, 18th, first and fifth to go with four bogeys, one double, a triple and a quad. Senior Lorens Chan is tied for 73rd (+14, 158) following a 10-over 82. He birdied the 13th and fifth, adding three bogeys, three doubles and a triple. Freshman Phil Delisi is in 77th (+22, 166) after an 11-over 83. He gained a stroke on the 18th, but also had four bogeys and four doubles.
As a team, the Bruins are 15th (+41, 617) after posting a score of 309 (+21) on Tuesday. UCLA will start its final round on the 10th tee on Wednesday beginning at 9:10 a.m. in the order of Delisi, Chan, Shaun, Garrick and Madey. Live scoring for the final round will be available here.
