
Bruins Tied for Ninth After 18 Holes

KOHLER, Wis. - Freshman Cole Madey shot an even-par 72 during the first round of the NCAA Kohler Regional on Monday, as the Bruins are tied for ninth after 18 holes.
As a team, UCLA shot a 294, which was 6-over. The Bruins are 11 shots back of first-place Florida and Idaho and five behind fifth-place Illinois. The top five teams after Wednesday's action will head to the NCAA Championships.
Madey is tied for 16th, making an eagle on the 11th and birdies on the first, eighth and 13th to go with five bogeys. Senior Jonathan Garrick fired a 1-over 73 and is tied for 27th. He also birdied his opening hole, along with the fourth, seventh, ninth and 12th, while making four bogeys and a double.
Sophomore Tyler Collier is one shot back of Garrick at +2 (T-41). He birdied the seventh and 11th and added four bogeys. Senior Lorens Chan is another stroke behind Collier at +3 (T-55). He had a pair of birdies on the fifth and 16th to go with five bogeys. Freshman Phil Delisi shot a non-team scoring 76 (+4) and is tied for 62nd. His lone birdie came on #15 to go with five bogeys.
The Bruins open round two on Tuesday at 8 a.m. CT/6 a.m. PT, going off the 10th tee in the order of Delisi, Chan, Collier, Garrick and Madey. Live scoring will be available here.
