Bruins in the Hunt at Kohler Regional

KOHLER, Wis. - Senior Lorens Chan produced a bogey-free round on Tuesday at the NCAA Kohler Regional, shooting a 3-under 69 to put him in a tie for 10th at even par (144) through 36 holes.
After two rounds as a team, the Bruins are tied for eighth at +12 (588). UCLA shot a second-straight, 6-over 294 and enters the third round six shots back of Idaho (+6) for fifth place. The low five teams and low individual not on those teams following Wednesday's play will advance to the NCAA Championships (May 27-June 1) in Eugene. Ore.
Starting on the 10th tee, Chan parred each of his first 11 holes before producing back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth. After two more pars, the senior gained another stroke on #7 before closing with a pair of pars. The round of 69 tied a season best for Chan.
Freshman Cole Madey shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday and is tied for 18th after two rounds (+1, 145). He made birdies on the 17th, fourth and seventh holes to go with four bogeys. Senior Jonathan Garrick had a 3-over 75 and is tied for 43rd at +4 (148). He made two birdies on #17 and #4, adding three bogeys and a double. Sophomore Tyler Collier had a 5-over 77 and is tied for 60th (+7, 151). He birdied #11 and #16 and had five bogeys and a double. Freshman Phil Delisi posted a non-team scoring 6-over 78 and is tied for 69th at +10 (154). He made birdies on the 11th and ninth to go with four bogeys and two doubles.
The final round for the Bruins starts at 7:30 a.m. CT/5:30 a.m. PT in the order of Delisi, Collier, Garrick, Madey and Chan. Live scoring will be available here.
