Career Round for Shaun on Final Day in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – Junior Corey Shaun fired a career-best 67 in the final round of the Arizona Intercollegiate at Sewailo Golf Club, as the Bruins finished seventh following Tuesday's under-par round.
UCLA improved after each of its three rounds, completing a team score of 296 (10 shots better than round one) in round two, which was finished early Tuesday morning. The regularly-scheduled third round saw the Bruins post a 1-under 283 to improve to seventh and just four strokes out of fourth place.
Shaun vaulted up 35 spots on the leaderboard following his 4-under par final round. He birdied his first hole, the eighth, along with #12, #15, #16 and #2. Shaun gained another stroke on the fifth to go with two bogeys in his final four holes to finish the tournament at T-37 (+13, 226). The junior completed his second round earlier in the day. He had a 5-over 76 in round two to put him at T-72 (+17, 159), making four birdies on the first, second, fifth and seventh to go with five bogeys and two doubles.
Junior Tyler Collier and sophomore Cole Madey tied for the top spot for the Bruins with a 12th-place showing (+5, 218). Collier shot an even-par 71 in the final round, making four birdies (#1, #4, #14 and #16) and four bogeys. He had a great finish to his suspended round on Tuesday morning, making three straight birdies on holes #2-#4 to post a 1-over 72. Collier also birdied the 17th to go with three bogeys and a double, ranking in a tie for 15th (+5, 147) after two rounds.
Following two straight rounds of 2-over 73, Madey shot a 1-over 72 in his final 18. He had a pair of birdies on the 10th and 12th to go with three bogeys. Madey was T-11 (+4, 146) after two rounds, making three birdies on #15, #17 and #18 with five bogeys.
Freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara tied with Shaun for 37th place after a 2-over 73 in his final round. He made two birdies on the first and sixth, adding two bogeys and a double. The freshman was tied for 38th after two rounds at +11 (153). He shot a 75 (+4) with three birdies (#5, #17 and #18), four bogeys and a triple.
Sophomore Phil Delisi closed with a 3-over 74, making a birdie on the 10th with two bogeys and a double, to finish T-60 (+18, 231). He shot a 77 (+6) in the second round and was tied for 61st (+15, 157) after 36 holes. Delisi birdied the fourth and eight holes, adding six bogeys and a double.
The Bruins are back in action Feb. 2-4 at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings Course in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
