PULLMAN, Wash. -- No. 7 UCLA entered tonight's contest having won its last 22 games against unranked teams including seven consecutive on the road, but those streaks came to a crashing halt on Friday as Washington State (7-8, 2-2 Pac-12) stunned the Bruins, 82-73, for its biggest win in program history.

The Bruins (11-3, 2-1) had no answer for the reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, Chanelle Molina, who scored a career-best 33 points to go with seven assists and five rebounds for the Cougars. It was the most points scored on the Bruins in nearly 14 years, since Washington's Giuliana Mendiola scored 43 on UCLA on Feb. 1, 2003.

UCLA got off to a slow start as the Bruins opened the first quarter shooting just 3-for-11 (27.3 percent). The Cougars led 12-8 at the first media timeout with a strong 5-for-8 shooting start at the first media timeout (4:40). The Cougars continued their hot shooting in the opening period and became only the second team this season to lead UCLA at the end of the first period, 25-23. WSU shot 64.7 percent (11-for-17) in the opening 10 minutes.

But the Bruins got after it to start the second quarter, engineering an 11-0 run to take a 34-25 lead with 6:27 remaining in the period. Kennedy Burke, Lajahna Drummer and Kari Korver each had three points in the run. But the Cougars closed the half on a 9-4 run to trim the lead to 38-34 at the break. UCLA thought it was in a good place, leading the rebounding category 27-21 and sporting an 11-2 record when tied or leading at the half. But the Bruins' leading scorers, Jordin Canada and Monique Billings, were a combined 3-for-22 from the field in the first half. The Cougars fell to 46.9 percent shooting in the first half (15-for-32), but UCLA shot just 31.7 percent (13-for-41) to keep them in the game.

Billings found her groove in the third quarter and had a double-double by the media timeout (4:33) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. But UCLA was just clinging to a 52-51 lead heading into the fourth.

And a problem that has plagued the Bruins all season long, Washington State outscored UCLA 31-21 in the fourth quarter. On the year, the Bruins have been outscored in the fourth by over 40 total points but lead every other quarter. Additionally, the 31 points were the most any team has scored in any quarter on UCLA. Molina blitzed the Bruins for 12 points in the first five minutes of the final stanza as WSU went on a 20-6 run to take command of the game and held on for just its eighth win in 60 tries against UCLA.

Billings finished with her ninth double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Canada led UCLA with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists on 7-for-22 shooting. Burke was the only other Bruin to reach double figures with 16 points. She also had eight rebounds, four steals, three assists and three blocks.

Pinelopi Pavlopoulou added 14 points for Washington State and Ivana Kmetovska had her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
