
Belanger Posts Third Top-4 Finish at UGA

ATHENS, Ga. โ UCLA divers wrapped up their time at the Georgia Fall Invitational Sunday and Eloise Belanger earned the Bruins' high score for the third time on the weekend. The junior posted a mark of 254.20 in the lone round of the Platform competition, while teammate Traci Shiver took fifth at 232.95.
Belanger's highest-scoring dive of the day, a Back 2 ยฝ Somersault Pike (205B), went for a mark of 60.90. Her 6241B, an Armstand Back 2 Somersault ยฝ Twist Pike, furthered her cause with a 56.70 on her penultimate dive. It was ultimately not enough to match Georgia's Freida Lam, who registered a 75.00 on her second dive of the day en route to an overall score of 289.45.
Shiver recorded back-to-back dives of over 50, beginning with her Forward 3 ยฝ Somersault Tuck (107C) that went for 52.65. A Forward 2 ยฝ Somersault 1 Twist Pike (5152B) earned the junior from Chatsworth, Calif. a mark of 50.75 to assist her eventual Top-5 finish.
Bruins Madeline Russell (193.60) and Alice Yanovsky (176.40) finished 11th and 12th, respectively, to round out the list of Bruin Platform participants.
UCLA concluded its time at the Georgia Fall Invite with a pair of Top-5 finishers in each event. Friday, Belanger captured the 1-Meter contest with a score of 320.45, ahead of runner-up teammate Ciara Monahan (287.75). In the 3-Meter Saturday, Belanger took fourth (297.75), just ahead of Monahan (294.05).
