SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA senior Ciara Monahan has been named the Pac-12 Diver of the Month for November, the conference announced today.
Monahan recorded at least one runner-up finish at each competition the Bruins attended during the month and posted two victories.
The Woodland Hills, Calif. native registered a pair of second-place finishes in the first of the Bruins' two desert stops, earning scores of 278.63 in the 3-Meter and 250.43 in the 1-Meter at Arizona (Nov. 3). One day later, she broke the 300 mark with a score of 309.38 for another runner-up finish, taking second in the 1-Meter at Arizona State. She also finished fifth in the 3-Meter (264.45) in the Bruins' dual meet with the Sun Devils.
UCLA then returned to Los Angeles for the USC-hosted Trojan Diving Invitational, which Monahan dominated. The senior picked up wins in both the 3-Meter (301.85 preliminary-round score) and 1-Meter (300.05 final-round score) competitions, her only two.
The Diver of the Month honor is the first of Monahan's career and the 15th overall for UCLA.
