BRUINS TRAVEL TO JUDI GARMAN CLASSIC
The seventh-ranked Bruins continue tournament season this week in Fullerton at the Judi Garman Classic. UCLA will play #14 Michigan on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., #1 Florida on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Cal State Fullerton on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and South Carolina (11:30 a.m.) and #22 Baylor (2 p.m.) on Sunday. BRUINS IN THE POLLS
UCLA dropped one spot to seventh in this week's USA Today/NFCA poll and four spots to eighth in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball rankings. Of the other eight teams in the top nine of both polls, six of them are on the Bruins' schedule. UCLA was also first in the Pac-12 preseason coaches poll, earning three first-place votes and 59 points.

NEWS AND NOTES
Kelly Inouye-Perez will be head coaching her 600th game on Thursday against Michigan ... the Bruins are 11 wins away from 1,800 as a program ... UCLA had 17 comeback victories last season and already has five this year ... the Bruins were 22-0 last year when leading after five innings and 23-0 when up after six. This year, UCLA is 10-0 and 9-0 in those instances ... the Bruins led the nation in double plays last season (45) and have seven in 2017 (tied for 20th) ... redshirt freshman Rachel Garcia has allowed one or zero runs in seven of her 10 appearances. She also has a hit in 11 of 16 games ... junior Johanna Grauer has given up one or zero runs in six of her eight outings. She has at least six strikeouts in four games ... sophomore Paige Halstead has hits in 13 of 16 contests. With her three homers, she is only one shy of matching her total from last season ... junior Madeline Jelenicki leads the team with five homers and hit her second grand slam on Feb. 25 against #7 LSU. She has four grand slams in her career ... senior Gabrielle Maurice stole a pair of bases in one game for the third time in her career against Liberty on Feb. 19. She is tied for second on the team with three swipes ... redshirt senior Paige McDuffee has not walked a batter in 8 2/3 innings ... freshman Bubba Nickles had a 12-game hitting streak from Feb. 11-24. She reached base in each of her first 14 contests ... junior Kylee Perez has hits in 12 games, with eight of those being multiple-hit contests. She has six three-hit games to go with five multi-RBI contests ... sophomore Zoe Shaw has driven in each of the last two UCLA runs, including a walk-off RBI in the eighth against LSU. She added an RBI versus #1 Florida State on Feb. 26 ... senior Delaney Spaulding has hits in 13 of her 16 contests, having produced multiple hits seven times. She is tied for second on the team with four homers ... junior Selina Ta'amilo is sixth in the nation in walks allowed per seven innings. Her first free pass came against NC State ... sophomore Brianna Tautalafua has four multiple-hit contests. She has at least one homer in each of the first three weekends, including a pair against Weber State on Feb. 11.

SCOUTING THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINES
Michigan enters the week at 9-4-1, going 3-1-1 at last week's Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic II. The Wolverines are 1-3-1 against ranked teams, beating Arizona State, tying Florida State and losing to Texas A&M, USF and Florida. Michigan is batting .341 as a team with 15 home runs and 24 stolen bases, averaging 6.4 runs per game. Senior Kelly Christner leads the team with a .600 batting average, four homers and 20 runs batted in, while senior Abby Ramirez (.442) and sophomore Natalie Peters (.400) are both hitting at least .400. In the circle, senior Megan Betsa is 3-3 with a 1.83 earned run average and 78 strikeouts in 46 innings, while junior Tera Blanco is 6-1 with a 2.33 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 42 innings. The Bruins and the Wolverines are even in their all-time series at 10-10-1. Michigan has won the last three.

SCOUTING THE FLORIDA GATORS
Florida is 15-1 entering the Judi Garman Classic, having won both its matchups against ranked teams (Michigan and USF). The Gators are batting .304 with 14 home runs and 38 stolen bases, averaging 6.1 runs per game. Freshman Sophia Reynoso (.476) and junior Kayli Kvistad (.447) are each hitting over .400, while freshman Jaimie Hoover is first with 18 runs batted in and tied for first with three homers. All four Florida pitchers have earned run averages under 1.00. Sophomore Kelly Barnhill is 6-0 with a 0.19 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 37 2/3 innings, freshman Katie Chronister is 1-0 with a 0.70 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 10 innings, senior Delanie Gourley is 6-1 with a 0.75 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings and junior Aleshia Ocasio is 2-0 with a 0.88 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 24 innings. The Gators hold a 5-4 edge in the series with the Bruins, having won the last two meetings.

SCOUTING THE CAL STATE FULLERTON TITANS
Cal State Fullerton is 8-8 on the year, having posted a 1-1 record against ranked teams, beating Utah and losing to Georgia. The Titans are batting .290 with five home runs and 22 stolen bases, averaging 4.4 runs per game. Senior Delynn Rippy is tops on the squad with a .407 batting average, while senior Lexi Gonzalez is second at a .405 average and first with three homers and 13 runs batted in. Senior Kelsey Kessler leads the team in the circle with a 5-2 record, a 2.17 earned run average and 54 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings. Sophomore Trish Parks is 2-2 with a 4.20 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings. The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Titans 44-33-1 and have won five in a row, including twice in last season's NCAA Regionals.

SCOUTING THE SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS
South Carolina holds a 14-2 record, having won six in a row after a two-game losing streak. The Gamecocks are hitting .300 with 11 home runs and 24 stolen bases, averaging 5.6 runs per game. Junior Krystan White leads the team with a .425 batting average to go with 14 runs batted in, while freshman Mackenzie Boesel is tied for first with three homers, first with 15 RBI and second with a .314 average. In the circle, senior Nickie Blue is 7-0 with a 1.28 earned run average and 28 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings, freshman Cayla Drotar is 2-1 with a 1.33 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings and senior Jessica Elliott is 5-1 with a 1.48 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 33 innings. The Bruins are 11-1 all-time against the Gamecocks, having won three straight, but the teams haven't met since 2008.

SCOUTING THE BAYLOR BEARS
Baylor is 14-3 entering the week, having won eight in a row. The Bears are hitting .337 as a team with eight home runs and 42 stolen bases, averaging 5.0 runs per game. Sophomore Kyla Walker is tops on the squad with a .500 batting average, while senior Lindsey Cargill is second with a .449 average and first with 10 steals. Senior Kelsee Selman is 7-2 with a 1.31 earned run average and 39 strikeouts in 48 innings, sophomore Gia Rodoni is 4-0 with a 1.97 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 39 innings and freshman Shelby McGlaun is 3-1 with a 2.74 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 23 innings. The Bruins are 4-2 all-time against the Bears, having won two in a row.
