UCLA Rowing Takes on Stanford, SDSU

MARINA DEL REY, Calif. – The UCLA women's rowing team raced to four second-place finishes in its races against Stanford and San Diego State on Ballona Creek on Saturday morning.
UCLA's varsity eight finished second to Stanford, posting a time of 6:43.20, crossing the finish line 16 seconds behind the Cardinal (6:27.20). The Bruins finished ahead of San Diego State (6:51.90)
The Bruins' second varsity eight posted a time of 7:00.00, finishing behind Stanford (6:42.70) and ahead of San Diego State (7:11.40).
UCLA's closest finish came in the varsity four, as the Bruins crossed the finish line in 7:40.80. Stanford completed the race in 7:34.00, while San Diego State posted a time of 8:05.70.
UCLA's third varsity eight finished second to Stanford (6:57.50), crossing the finish line in 7:11.90. The Bruins finished 14.1 seconds ahead of San Diego State (7:26.00).
In addition, UCLA raced a pair of open eights. The Bruins' A crew finished the race in 8:09.25 while the B crew posted a time of 8:28.80.
The Bruins will return to action at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic on April 1-2 on Mission Bay in San Diego.
