The Bruins won the first three matches to post their first-ever win over FSU.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., -- No. 4 UCLA (6-2) earned its first-ever win over Florida State (4-2) by defeating the second-ranked Seminoles, 3-2, on Sunday in its final dual of the inaugural East Meets West Invitational at Manhattan Beach Pier. The teams from the West Coast dominated the win column with a combined record of 13-3 against the East Coast squads.
UCLA scored the first point of the dual when a new pairing of Jordan Anderson and Izzy Carey defeated FSU's Katie Horton and Molly McBain on court four in straight sets, 21-17, 21-17.
Then the freshman duo of Lily Justine and Chanti Holroyd put UCLA up 2-0 by posting their most impressive win of the season, taking down the Seminoles' Eva Torruella and Nikki Esposito on court five, 21-18, 21-13.
Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara sealed the victory on court one with a thrilling three-set victory over Leigh Andrew and Brooke Kuhlman, 18-21, 21-19, 15-10.
Another new pairing for UCLA was on court three and they lost a tightly-contested match. FSU's Macy Jerger and Victoria Paranagua defeated the Bruins' Elise Zappia and Torrey Van Winden, 21-18, 23-25, 15-13.
On court two, UCLA's Kamila Tan and Madi Yeomans also dropped a three-set match, falling to Vanessa Freire and Francesca Goncalves, 20-22, 24-22, 15-11.
Riding a four-match winning streak, the Bruins return to action on Friday, March 17 when they travel to Monterey, Calif., to compete in the Monterey Invitational. The Bruins will face Portland (9:00 a.m.), San Jose State (Noon) and San Francisco (3:00 p.m.) on Friday. Then on Saturday, March 18, UCLA will take on #11 Grand Canyon (9:00 a.m.) and Saint Mary's (1:00 p.m.).
