Bruins' Win Streak Now at School-Record 14 Straight

No. 3 UCLA swept No. 12 Arizona State and New Orleans and posted a 3-2 win over No. 14 FAU on Friday.

MIAMI, Fla.,ย -- No. 3 UCLA (16-2) posted three more dual wins on Friday at the FIU Surf and Turf Invitational at the Lummus Parkย Courts to run its winning streak to a school-record 14 straight victories, surpassing last year's consecutive streak of 12 in a row. The Bruins began with a 5-0 sweep over No. 12 Arizona State (7-10), followed by a 5-0 sweep over New Orleans (5-10) and concluded with a 3-2 win over No. 14 Florida Atlantic (18-3), snapping the Owls' 17-match winning streak.
In the win over Arizona State, the Bruins' sophomore pair of Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara posted a come-from-behind three-set win on court one over the Sun Devils' Bianca Arellano and Whitney Follette, 20-22, 21-15, 15-6.
On court two, freshman Madi Yeomans and senior Kamila Tan defeated ASU's Oluoma Okaro and Madison Berridge in straight sets, 21-16, 21-16.
Another straight-set win for the Bruins followed on court three as freshman Torrey Van Winden and junior Elise Zappiaย defeated Sage Patchellย and Ellyson Lundberg, 21-7, 21-13.
Senior Jordan Anderson and sophomore Izzy Carey posted a straight-set victory on court four over ASU's Kwyn Johnson and Frances Giedraitis, 21-16, 21-13.
Court five saw the freshman duo of Lily Justine and Chanti Holroyd beat the Sun Devils' Cassidy Pickrelll and Katelyn Carballo, 21-19, 21-16.

UCLA'sย Madi Yeomans and Kamila Tan posted a straight-set win on court two over Blessing Dunn and Veronica Corcoran, 21-15, 21-15.
Another straight-set win for the Bruins followed on court three as the freshman pair of Torrey Van Winden and Savvy Simoย defeated Brooklyn Frank and Rachel Kuhn, 21-13, 21-9.
Court four saw the return of duo sophomore Izzy Carey and junior Elise Zappia, who had no trouble with Lauren Levy and Rhyan Rand, 21-10, 21-8.
Senior Jordan Anderson teamed up with freshman Chanti Holroydย on court five to post a straight-set win over UNO's Brianna Vega and Samantha Uline, 21-13, 21-14.

In the third and final match of the day, the Bruins' sophomore pair of Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara dropped a straight-set match on court one to Florida Atlantic's Megan Rice and Jessalyn Kinlaw, 21-17, 21-19.
But the Bruins tied it at 1-1 on court five when the freshman duo of Chanti Holroyd and Lily Justine posted a straight-set win over Jazmine Barker and Ashlan Cunningham, 29-27, 21-14.
The Bruins took a 2-1 advantage after freshman Savvy Simo partnered with senior Jordan Anderson on court four to take down Brittany Pellitteri and Julia Lewkowitz in straight sets, 21-15, 21-18.
UCLA won the match on court three (3-1) after junior Elise Zappia and sophomore Izzy Carey rallied to defeat Nicole Navarro and Nicole Grant, 20-22, 21-16, 23-21.
UCLA'sย Madi Yeomans and Kamila Tan dropped the final match of the day on court two in a three-set thriller to FAU'sย Candace Lacour and Gabby Dischleer, 28-26, 19-21, 15-13.
The Bruins return to action tomorrow for three more duals at the FIU Surf and Turf Invitational. UCLA will open with #4 Florida State at 10:00 a.m. ET/7:00 a.m. PT, followed by #15 FIU at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT and concluding with Tulane at 3:00 p.m. ET/Noon PT.
