UCLA Falls at Arizona State, 5-4

TEMPE, Ariz. โ Daniel Rosica drove in two runs, while Daniel Amaral and Ryan Kreidler each tallied three hits as the UCLA baseball team fell to Arizona State, 5-4, on Saturday from Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The loss snaps UCLA's six-game winning streak.
The Bruins trailed 2-1 going into the seventh inning before scoring three runs to take a 4-2 advantage as Kreidler and Rosica hit back-to-back doubles to bring in all three runs in the frame. However, Arizona State responded with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning behind consecutive infield singles for the 5-4 advantage.
After five scoreless innings to start the game, the Bruins got on the board first as Amaral brought home Kreidler with a RBI-single through the right side of the infield to go up 1-0.
The Sun Devils took their first lead of the game with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the sixth on a solo home run by Lyle Lin followed by a triple off the bat of Ryan Lillard to score Taylor Lane and make the score 2-1.
UCLA's Nick Scheidler (1-3) suffered the loss allowing one run in 0.1 innings of work, while starter Moises Ceja tossed 5.2 innings allowing two runs with six strikeouts for the no-decision. ASU's Connor Higgins earned the win throwing 0.2 innings in relief as Chaz Montoya started the game and allowed three runs in 6.1 innings of work.
The Bruins will play the rubber match of this three-game Pac-12 series against Arizona State on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (PT) from Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
