No. 7 UCLA Breezes by Wildcats, 4-0

LOS ANGELES -- The No. 7 UCLA men's tennis team topped visiting Arizona in an Easter Sunday matinee at Sunset Canyon Tennis Courts, 4-0. Freshmen Ben Goldberg and Evan Zhu recorded the final two singles wins to key the UCLA victory, which pushed the Bruins to 5-0 in Pac-12 play.
The Bruins drew first blood in doubles, as No. 10 pair Martin Redlicki and Evan Zhu dispatched the Wildcats' Will Kneale and Oliver Plaskett on Court 1, 6-2. Redlicki-Zhu is now 15-3 on the year and has won five matches in a row around a pair of unfinished contests. On Court 2, the team of Joseph Di Giulio and Austin Rapp won its second in a row since Di Giulio's return, as the duo defeated Shoki Kasahara and Trent Botha on Court 2, 6-3. That clinched the doubles point for the Bruins, who have now taken five out of six opening points.
Redlicki blanked Neale on Court 2 to begin singles play, 6-0, 6-0. The win improved the junior's record to 16-3 on the dual-match campaign and 15-1 on Court 2. Then, making his dual-match debut in singles on Court 6, UCLA freshman Ben Goldberg defeated Andres Reyes in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Ultimately, it was another first-year player who clinched the match for the Bruins, as Evan Zhu topped Trent Botha on Court 3, 6-2, 6-2.
UCLA will look to keep its unblemished home mark alive when two Los Angeles-area foes visit Sunset Courts in the coming week. The Bruins will first take on Cal Lutheran Wednesday in a previously unscheduled non-conference match at 3:00 p.m. UCLA will then close out the regular season with its final home match, a Pac-12 clash with crosstown rival and fellow Oracle/ITA Top-10-ranked USC on Friday. That match will also begin at 3:00 p.m.
