STANFORD, Calif. -ย Senior Delaney Spaulding drove in three runs on Saturday, while junior Selina Ta'amiloย went the distance in the circle to improve to 11-0, as the 12th-ranked Bruins recorded a 6-5 victory over Stanford at Smith Family Stadium.

The Bruins (36-12, 10-7 Pac-12), who picked up their seventh win in a row, had six hits from as many players. Ta'amiloย struck out two, giving up five runs and five hits, retiring the side in order in the second, third and fourth innings.

Stanford (18-26, 1-16) scored the game's first run in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Whitney Burks, but UCLA rebounded with three in the second. With two outs and Gabrielle Maurice at first, the senior stole second, moved to third on a throwing error by the catcher and scored on a fielding error on a grounder to third by sophomore Paige Halstead to even the score. Sophomore Zoe Shaw followed with a walk, and both her and Halstead came home on a double to left-center by Spaulding to make it 3-1 UCLA.

In the fourth, the Bruins netted another unearned run. Maurice led off with a single to right and then stole second, and one out later, Shaw walked. Spaulding followed with a grounder to third which was bobbled, allowing Maurice to score the Bruins' fourth run.

The Cardinal cut their deficit to one in the fifth on a two-run single by Kylie Sorenson, but UCLA got those runs back in the sixth. With one out, Halstead singled through the 5-6 hole and was pinch-run for by sophomore Imani Johnson, who moved to third on a double to left-center by Shaw. Spaulding then lifted a fly ball to center deep enough to plate Johnson to make it 5-3, while the throw home got away, which also allowed Shaw to score to bring the lead to 6-3.

Stanford scored two more in the seventh on a two-run homer by Montana Dixon to make it 6-5, but Ta'amilo recorded the final three outs to clinch the victory.

The Bruins look to complete a sweep of Stanford on Sunday at Noon. Live scoring and video will be available at UCLABruins.com.
