SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Freshman Bryan Wiyang Teoh is tied for the lead after 36 holes at the Bill Cullum Invitational. One of two Bruin individuals playing in the tournament, Teoh followed up an even-par 72 in the morning round with a 6-under 66 in his afternoon trip around the Wood Ranch Golf Club.
Teoh shares the lead with UC Santa Barbara's Zach Smith, who has one hole remaining in his second round, as play was suspended due to darkness. In round one, Teoh made four birdies on No. 18, 5, 12 and 15, adding two bogeys and a double. The freshman was bogey-free in round two, posting six birdies on No. 16, 18, 1, 6, 11 and 15 to put him at 6-under 138 after 36 holes.
Sophomore Eddy Lai is tied for ninth through 36 holes at 2-under 142. He posted an even-par 72 in the morning with five birdies (No. 15, 3, 5, 6 and 9), three bogeys and a double. In the afternoon, Lai shot a 2-under 70, recording four birdies (No. 15, 6, 10 and 12) and two bogeys.
The final round will begin around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
