ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Sophomore Devon Bling shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday, as the Bruins wrapped up play at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. UCLA finished in a tie for seventh at 3-over 867, shooting a 2-over 290 in its final trip around the Golf Club of Georgia.
Bling placed in a tie for 29th (+1, 217), recording four birdies in his final round. He twice went back-to-back, gaining strokes on No. 11 and 12, as well as No. 6 and 7, making just two bogeys. Senior Cole Madey had the best finish among Bruin golfers, tying for 21st at even-par 216. He shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday, making an eagle on the first, a pair of birdies on No. 2 and 9, three bogeys and a double. Junior Hidetoshi Yoshihara and freshman Sean Maruyama each tied for 38th (+3, 219). Maruyama shot an even-par 72, making six birdies (No. 11, 12, 15, 2, 8 and 9), four bogeys and a double. Yoshihara posted three birdies (No. 3, 5 and 9) and six bogeys in a 3-over 75. Senior Jack Ireland tied for 61st (+9, 225), shooting a 4-over 76 on three birdies (No. 4, 5 and 9), five bogeys and a double.
The Bruins conclude their Fall schedule at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational, which will take place Nov. 2-4 at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course in Ka'anapali, Hawai'i.
