UCLA Wraps Up at Trojan Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES โ The UCLA diving team concluded competition at the Trojan Diving Invitational on Sunday, placing all three of its participating divers in the top-seven of the women's platform championship at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center on the campus of USC.
Freshman Veronica Thompson was UCLA's top finisher for the second consecutive today, placing fifth with a final score of 425.65. Earlier in the weekend, she was fifth in the 1m (470.50) and sixth in the 3m (479.80).
Senior Traci Shiver was right behind Thompson, placing sixth overall with a final score of 405.85. Shiver placed top-10 in all three events over the weekend, including a solid third-place showing in Friday's 1m with a score of 492.20.
Making her first appearance of the weekend, senior Madeline Russell logged a score of 398.75 to take seventh, meaning the Bruins placed 5-6-7.
The UCLA swimming and diving team will next compete at the Georgia Fall Invitational from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Athens, Ga. The Bruins next compete in the state of California on Jan. 7, hosting San Diego and Harvard at Spieker Aquatics Center.
