Seven Bruins Named to Pac-12 All-Academic Team

SAN FRANCISCO - A total of seven Bruins were named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Academic Teams on Thursday, as junior Madeleine Gates earned First Team honors, while seniorsย Zana Muno and Kyra Rogers, junior Savvy Simo, sophomores Mac May and Jenny Mosser and redshirt freshman Alexis Light picked up Honorable Mention accolades.
The seven awards are tied for the most ever for the Bruins, matching the total in 2012. The First Team honor for Gates is the first for UCLA since 2009.
To be eligible for selection to the All-Academic Teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average, have appeared in at least 50 percent of their team's games and have a minimum of one year of enrollment at the institution.
Muno and Rogers finish their careers with three All-Academic honors in as many seasons eligible. Gates improved from Second Team a year ago to First Team this season. Simo was named Honorable Mention a year ago, while Light, May and Mosser picked up their first awards in their first season eligible.
