Fall Season Concludes With Great Final Round in Maui

LAHAINA, Hawaii - The Bruins shot the third-best round of the day on Sunday at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational, moving up four spots to finish in a tie for fourth. UCLA shot a 15-under 269 at the Ka'anapali Golf Club's Royal Ka'anapali Course to finish at 27-under 825 for the three-day tournament.

Freshman Bryan Wiyang Teoh was the high finisher for the Bruins, placing in a tie for 11th at 8-under 205. He was bogey-free on Sunday with a 6-under 65, making three birdies in a row from No. 7 through 9, also gaining strokes on No. 13, 18 and 1. 

Sophomore Eddy Lai placed in a tie for 18th at 6-under 207, shooting a 2-under 69 in his final round. He made five birdies on No. 6, 7, 9, 18 and 1 and three bogeys. Senior Patrick Murphy and sophomore Devon Bling each tied for 26th (-4, 209). Bling had a 5-under 66 on Sunday, recording six birdies on No. 7, 10, 12, 16, 18 and 2 and just one bogey. Murphy shot a 3-over 74 on three birdies (No. 16, 17 and 1), four bogeys and a double. Junior Hidetoshi Yoshihara tied for 53rd (+1, 214), firing a 2-under 69 on six birdies (No. 8, 9, 10, 12, 3 and 6), two bogeys and a double.

The Bruins are off from competition for the next 12 weeks, returning to action at the Arizona Intercollegiate and Arizona Medalist (Jan. 28-29).
