FOURTH-RANKED BRUINS AT #11 ARIZONA
The fourth-ranked Bruins renew their rivalry with #11 Arizona this weekend in Tucson. The series starts on Friday at 7:30 p.m., continues on Saturday at 7 p.m. and concludes on Sunday at 5 p.m. Friday's game will air on ESPNU, while Saturday and Sunday's contest will be Pac-12 Networks broadcasts.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Bruins host top-ranked Washington at Easton Stadium next weekend. The series begins on Friday, April 20 at 5 p.m., continues on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. and concludes on Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. Friday and Sunday's games will air on Pac-12 Networks, while Saturday's contest will be an ESPN2 broadcast.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
The Bruins dropped one spot to fourth in both national polls this week. UCLA is one of six Pac-12 teams ranked in the Top 25 of either poll: Washington (#1 NFCA/#1 USA Softball), Oregon (#3 NFCA/#3 USA Softball), Arizona State (#6 USA Softball/#7 NFCA), Arizona (#11 USA Softball/#12 NFCA) and California (#23 USA Softball/#25 NFCA), with Oregon State also receiving votes in both polls. In the Pac-12 Preseason Coaches poll, UCLA was second, earning 55 points and a pair of first-place votes.

NEWS AND NOTES
Of the 238 runs batted in for Bruin hitters, 99 have come with two outs for a 41.6 percentage. Freshman Briana Perez leads the team with 19 two-out RBI, followed by redshirt freshman Aaliyah Jordan (18) and redshirt sophomore Rachel Garcia and sophomore Bubba Nickles (10) ... the Bruins were the final remaining undefeated team in college softball this season, entering their March 17 game with a 25-0 record. UCLA's start was tied for the fifth best in program history. In three of the other five seasons where the Bruins started a year with at least 25 consecutive wins, they won the NCAA Championship (1992, 1999, 2004) ... UCLA is third in the nation in least number of losses (3), one behind Oklahoma and Washington ... with the Feb. 25 win against Missouri, head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez earned the 500th victory of her career ... after posting 13 comeback victories last season, the Bruins already have seven this year ... UCLA has won 83 in a row when ahead after five innings (21 times this season)  ... the Bruins have not allowed more than 20 runs in any one inning this season and have given up less than 10 runs in the first (8) and sixth (9) innings ... UCLA has lost just once (34-1) when scoring at least three runs and is 22-0 when giving up two runs or less ... all three of the Bruins' losses this year have come when the opponent scores first (6-3 record, 28-0 when scoring first).

SCOUTING THE ARIZONA WILDCATS
Arizona (27-9, 6-6 Pac-12) is coming off having been swept at Oregon last weekend, which included two mercy-rule losses. Previously in Pac-12 play, the Wildcats have swept Utah and California at home, while also getting swept, with two extra-inning setbacks, at Washington. Arizona is hitting .313 as a team with 47 home runs and 26 stolen bases, averaging 5.28 runs per game. Four players are hitting above .300, led by redshirt sophomore Alyssa Palomino's .427 average. She is also second with 11 homers and third with 24 runs batted in. Sophomores Reyna Carranco and Malia Martinez are each hitting .367, while sophomore Jessie Harper is batting .353 with a team-best 12 homers and 36 RBI. In the circle, junior Taylor McQuillin and sophomore Alyssa Denham have combined to pitch more than 86 percent of the team's innings. McQuillin is 18-6 with a 1.39 earned run average and 177 strikeouts in 145 2/3 innings, while Denham is 5-2 with a 2.02 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 55 1/3 innings.

SERIES HISTORY: BRUINS VS. WILDCATS
The Bruins lead the all-time series with Arizona 85-57 and have won six straight Pac-12 series' against the Wildcats (2012-2017). UCLA swept Arizona at home in 2014 and 2015, won 2-1 at home in 2012 and 2017 and 2-1 at Tucson in 2013 and 2016. Dating back to the advent of the three-game weekend series, the Bruins have won three series' in a row at Arizona (2010, 2013, 2016). UCLA is 33-27 all-time in Tucson, having won four of the last five at Hillenbrand Stadium.
