LOS ANGELES - The top-ranked Bruins broke a 1-1 tie with four runs in the sixth inning on a two-run homer by redshirt freshman Aaliyah Jordan, an RBI double by senior Madeline Jelenicki and an RBI single by junior Taylor Pack, as UCLA evened its series with No. 6 Arizona State in a 5-1 victory on Friday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins improved to 49-4 overall and 19-4 in Pac-12 play, while the Sun Devils fell to 43-10 and 16-7 in league action.

Redshirt sophomore Rachel Garcia moved to 20-2 on the season, striking out eight in a complete-game two-hitter. She gave up one run and two walks. Garcia had 1-2-3 innings in the third, fourth and sixth, striking out the side in the second and two apiece in the sixth and seventh.

Offensively, the Bruins had seven hits from five different players, as freshman Briana Perez went 3-for-3.

Perez jump-started the UCLA offense in the bottom of the first, sending a solo home run to deep center, her fifth of the season. The Sun Devils tied things up with a solo homer of their own in the fifth by DeNae Chatman.

In the sixth, Perez again started a rally, leading off with a single through the right side. Jordan followed with an opposite-field homer to left, her 11th of the season, to give the Bruins a 3-1 advantage. One out later, sophomore Bubba Nickles reached on an error and was pinch-run for by sophomore Jenna Crawford, who scored from first on a double to right-center by Jelenicki to increase the lead to 4-1. Sophomore Stevie Wisz came in to run for Jelenicki and alertly moved to third on a fly out to right by junior Brianna Tautalafua and then scored on Pack's single through the 5-6 hole to make it 5-1.

The Bruins and the Sun Devils close out their regular seasons on Saturday at 12 p.m., live on Pac-12 Networks. Seniors Jelenicki, Jelly Felix, Johanna Grauer, Kylee Perez and Selina Ta'amilo will be honored in a ceremony beginning at 11:40 a.m.
