Freshman Phenom Makes History
At the Columbia Challenge on Jan. 26, Guttormsen made history when he cleared 5.71m (18-8.75) on his third attempt, which broke a 41-year-old UCLA indoor record. His mark trumped Mike Tulley's indoor effort of 5.62m (18-5.25) set for the Bruins in 1978. Guttormsen, the second athlete ever to clear 18 feet at the National Pole Vault Summit, also tied Tulley's outdoor mark of 5.71m and set a meet record for the Columbia Challenge.

Wilson Stays Unbeaten in Shot Put

In the season opener at the Northern Arizona Friday Night Duals, she threw 17.73m (58-2), a lifetime best and the second-best mark in UCLA's indoor history.
