Bruins Head to Monmouth for Pac-12 Championships

LOS ANGELES โ UCLA will begin postseason action on Friday at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships in Monmouth, Ore.

A total of 10 ranked teams between the men and women will race at the Ash Creek Preserve course. The defending champions are Stanford (men) and Oregon (women). Both races will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network, starting with the men at 11 a.m. (PT), followed by the women at noon.

The UCLA men are enjoying their highest ranking (No. 10) since week six of the 2017 campaign. The Bruins will look to compete with No. 7 Washington and have a shot at clinching a top-two finish, where Colorado and Stanford are favored. Last season, the Bruins took sixth, highlighted by an 11th-place finish from Colin Burke. UCLA was without Robert Brandt a year ago, as he redshirted the 2018 season. He is the Bruins' top runner, finishing as high as second at the Bill Dellinger Invitational and sixth at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invite.

The Bruin women will shoot for a second-consecutive top-five finish at the conference meet. UCLA will be without Erika Adler, who led the Bruins at last season's championship race at 13thย overall. Christina Rice will look to pace UCLA as she has done all season. She finished 25th at the conference meet in 2018 and registered a 10th-place finish at this year's Bill Dellinger Invitational.
