No. 4 Bruins Travel to South Carolina for Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The fourth-ranked Bruins travel to the east coast for this weekend's Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. The 54-hole event will take place Friday through Sunday at the Long Cove Club's par-71, 6,160-yard layout.
The starting five for the Bruins will be senior Beth Wu, juniors Mariel Galdiano and Clare Legaspi, sophomore Patty Tavatanakit and freshman Phoebe Yue. UCLA will tee off the first tee on Friday at 10:10 a.m. ET/7:10 a.m. PT in the order of Tavatanakit, Wu, Legaspi, Yue and Galdiano. Saturday's tee times will be off split tees starting at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT, with Sunday's final round beginning off split tees at 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT.
The 17-team field includes No. 3 Duke, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 7 Vanderbilt, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 11 Auburn, No. 13 Wake Forest, No. 14 Virginia, No. 15 Northwestern, No. 16 Alabama, No. 19 Florida State, No. 23 Furman, No. 33 North Carolina, No. 36 Baylor, No. 38 Georgia, No. 56 LSU and No. 58 Oklahoma State.
The Bruins are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Bruin Wave Invitational (Feb. 25-26) after resuming their spring schedule with a second-place showing at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge (Feb. 3-5). UCLA also has a win at the Golfweek Conference Challenge (Sept. 24-26) and another second-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M (Sept. 17-19).
In six tournaments, Galdiano has finished inside the Top 20 each time, including a pair of victories at the Golfweek Challenge (-13, 203) and the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 19-21, -8, 205). Galdiano tied for third at the Bruin Wave (+8, 224), tied for eighth at the Northrop Grumman (+4, 217), tied for 12th at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview (Nov. 5-7, E, 219) and tied for 18th at the ANNIKA (-2, 214). She has a scoring average of 71.2, nine under-par rounds and four rounds in the 60s.
Yue is coming off a career-best finish at the Bruin Wave, as she tied for third (+8, 224). In her first three tournaments, the freshman was 54th at Nanea (+17, 236), tied for 79th at the NGRC (+28, 241) and tied for 84th at Stanford (+25, 238).
Legaspi has two Top 10s and four Top 20s, tying for fourth at the Northrop Grumman (+3, 216). She also tied for seventh at the Golfweek Challenge (-3, 213), tied for 18th at the Bruin Wave (+12, 228) and tied for 20th at the Stanford Intercollegiate (+2, 215). Legaspi has three under-par rounds and a pair in the 60s, including a 4-under 68 to open the Golfweek Challenge.
Wu also has four Top 20s, posting a season-best, T-10 finish at the Nanea (-1, 218). She tied for 15th at the ANNIKA (-3, 213), tied for 16th at the NGRC (+7, 220) and tied for 18th at the Bruin Wave (+12, 228). Wu has five under-par rounds, with a season-low, 3-under 68 in round two at Stanford.
